This also the first entry in what I hope will be long running series about our Thursday ritual.

I love these two kids. They represent the DIY punk and lesbian feminist crews, in fact I believe I’ve taken at least one GWS class with each of these kids. Ian doesn’t drink but he’s always nice to have around since he holds down the handmade-screenprint folk-punk vibe that is so utterly neglected by the Urbana fashion police. Jackie dresses like a hobo, but I still love her.

Lou Perry née Marjorie Mae Perry is totally all over the place. I used to hold a grudge with her, but after she came back from China it was all kinda water under the bridge. Right now she’s rocking this all-black crazy hair thing and hanging out with the aforementioned badass college-dyke feminists. No one else has the power to call me out so hard, I’m terrified of her simply because she easily sees through my bullshit and makes me feel guilty for not sticking to my politics. I also don’t know what the hell I was thinking putting my hand on your head like that, I’m sorry and it’s not cool. Too bad this is the best picture of your awesome hair.

Andy Creighton is hilarious. I went over to 708 Illinois to bother Jade, and this kid is playing Blitz on their N64 all like “I don’t know I think she’s at work.” I should have stolen Jade’s “tamales” and spent the afternoon there, but I guess I had things to do. He’s just got the right laid back college vibe. Props!

Fred Follmer is the tallest kid I know. We had a potluck at our house and decided everyone need to be measured against the doorframe in our kitchen. He was obviously the winner, in fact I don’t think anyone but Mike Winegardner. Anyway Fred also has this easygoing yet neurotic thing that is best expressed by his hair. He wears tight jeans and bikes a lot, we love having him around!

I also use this blog to apologize to friends I don’t want mad at me. I figure if I give them a shout out and say nice things, they can’t help but forgive me, right? I AM SORRY I CALLED YOU A CHILD MOLESTER PLZ DON’T HURT ME!
